Hormones are biomolecules that are produced in our body, circulate in our blood and regulate the activity of cells, tissues and organs. They act as “messengers”, which transmit various information from one receptor of our body to another.

Hormones are transported through the bloodstream to a vast network of communication, which helps connect the upper centers of our brain to the corresponding regulatory sites of the DNA of many trillions of cells in our body. There are hormone receptors on the inside and outside of cell membranes, where hormones bind like keys. Each hormone provides the corresponding command indicating in the DNA of each cell what it will do. In this way, the biochemical message of each hormone is properly transmitted to our cells, in order to optimally perform all their functions.
Hormones control many physical and psychological changes that our body undergoes during our lifetime. When they are at normal levels, they determine the rate of cell growth and contribute to their proper function.
